 The arrival of the Piarists Fathers constitutes a remarkable cultural moment for the city of Archidona.

Las Escuelas Pías de Archidona es uno de los primeros centros de esta Orden religiosa en toda España y el primero de Andalucía, llegando a ser uno de los principales referentes educativos andaluces, por la excelente y exquisita perfección en el trabajo de educación y formación a los niños.

 The Piarist School of Archidona is one of the first schools of this religious rrder in Spain and the first one created in Andalusia. It became one of the main Andalusian educative referents because of its excellent and exquisite perfection in the education and training of children.

Archidona acoge a Blas Infante, creador de la Patria Andaluza, que ingresa en las Escuelas Pías de Jesús Nazareno a la edad de 11 años, donde cursa, como alumno interno, sus estudios de Bachillerato.

 Archidona lodged Blas Infante, founder of the Andalusian region, for some years. He entered as a boarder the Piarist School of Jesús Nazareno at the age of 11, where he studied Bachillerato.

Durante su estancia en el Colegio Escolapio como miembro del coro, cantó el himno religioso del “Santo Dios”, cuya partitura musical sería la base del “Himno de Andalucía”.

 While he was studying in the Piarist School he participated as a member of the choir and he sang the religious hymn “Santo Dios” (Holy Father), whose music score would be the grounds for the “Andalusian Hymn”.
